National Mall Evening Tour with Lincoln Undercroft Tickets: an honest review

The verdict: the only product in the catalogue that puts a guide and an undercroft ticket in the same booking. Two hours on foot around the National Mall after dark, in a group capped at ten to twelve, ending with timed tickets for the museum, which you then visit on your own. Nobody has reviewed it yet, because the museum it was built around opened in June. If you want a guide and the undercroft, this is the booking. If you want a guide inside the undercroft, no such thing is sold.

What the evening covers

The walk starts outside the Lockkeeper’s House at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue NW and takes in the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial, where the guide stops on the upper landing at the spot Dr King spoke from in 1963. The operator describes the route as flat and fully accessible. At the end you are handed timed entry tickets for the undercroft and go down on your own; the listing suggests allowing another 30 minutes to an hour for that.

It is worth being clear about what counts as an inclusion here. Entry to the WWII, Korean, MLK and Lincoln memorials is listed, and all four are free to walk into at any hour. The part with a real ticket attached is the undercroft.

Undercroft: included

Only two products in our catalogue of eighteen include timed entry to the undercroft museum, and this is one of them. The routes that cost nothing, and the one that costs a dollar, are set out on the tickets page.

The one thing to check before you book

The undercroft closes at 9 p.m. from March to October and 8 p.m. from November to February, and last entry is an hour before closing. A two-hour walk that starts late leaves less room at the end of it than the running order suggests. Check the departure time you are booking against the day’s closing time, and if the evening looks tight, ask the operator which slot the tickets are for. This is not a fault in the product. It is arithmetic, and it only bites in winter.

The evidence: there is none, and that is not a criticism

No rating and no reviews on the listing. The undercroft opened on 25 June 2026, this product exists to sell entry to it, and the reviews have not been written yet. What can be checked is the inclusion itself, and it holds up: the operator states in its own description that you receive timed entry tickets for a self-guided visit at the end of the tour. What cannot be checked is the guiding, the pace, or whether the group cap holds on a busy Saturday. Come back to the listing in a couple of months and there will be something to read.

What works

  • A guide and an undercroft ticket in one booking, which nothing else here offers
  • Small group — the operator caps it at ten to twelve per guide
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, unlike the direct-entry ticket
  • The route is flat and the operator describes it as fully accessible
  • The Mall after dark is the memorial at its best, and it is lit

Worth knowing

  • No reviews at all, so the guiding is unproven
  • The undercroft part is self-guided; the guide does not come down with you
  • You need another half hour to an hour after the tour ends
  • A late winter departure leaves little margin before last entry
  • Two hours on your feet, outdoors, in whatever the evening is doing

Who should book this

Anyone who wants the museum and would also like to be told what they are looking at above ground first, and anyone travelling with people who will not queue at 8:45 in the morning. It does not suit somebody who wants the undercroft itself explained to them, or a visitor with only a daytime window, because this is an evening product. If the undercroft is all you want, the direct-entry ticket is the cheaper route and the free routes are on the tickets page.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tour include Lincoln Memorial Undercroft tickets?

Yes. The operator states that timed entry tickets for a self-guided undercroft visit are handed over at the end of the two-hour walk. It is one of only two products in our catalogue of eighteen that includes them.

Is the undercroft part guided?

No. The guided section is the walk around the National Mall. The museum underneath is self-guided, and the listing suggests allowing 30 minutes to an hour for it after the tour finishes.

Why does this tour have no reviews?

The undercroft opened on 25 June 2026 and this product was listed for it. There is no rating and no review text on the listing yet, so there is nothing for us to weigh.

Can I cancel?

The listing offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour, which is the opposite of the self-guided direct-entry ticket, where nothing is refunded.
